Why choose VilaDor, in Poiana Marului
The Poiana Marului mountain resort, from Caras Severin county, has a remarkable past; it was established during the time of Austro-Hungarian empire by the town hall of Timisoara as a summer resort.
VilaDor hostel is located in the highest area of the Poiana Marului resort. The beautiful mountain landscape, a regular piece of heaven as the tourists often describe it and the pure air with intense negative ionization are responsible for its well-deserved fame throughout the old empire as a place to treat various lung conditions. VilaDor hostel and Poiana Marului resort are very close to Timisoara, only 135 kilometers (85 miles) away, Poiana Marului being the closest mountain resort in the area. All of the above contributed to making the resort prosper so that after the first world war there used to be a tram line running from Otelu Rosu (old Ferdinand Stadt) all the way to Poiana Marului.
